"Why do you only coach women?"

It’s a question I’m often asked. I have, and continue to, work with some inspiring men. I am a mum to girls and boys. But I choose to coach women because I believe it is going to take more than targets and data to get them an EQUAL place at the table.

I choose to coach women because when the time comes for them to take that seat I want them to have a belief mindset, REALLY BELIEVE, that they deserve to be there.

I choose to coach women because I know that business benefits from diversity of thought. That women think DIFFERENT to men is exactly why business will be made all the better when there’s more equal representation at executive levels. It’s good for business, and it’s good for men too.

I choose to coach women so that they can learn to lead with PURPOSE, to understand their networks, and to lead with passion that will inspire the next generation of female leaders.

I coach women because I’VE BEEN THERE. After an executive career in finance that spanned 20 years, I understand just how hard it can be to SHOW UP when you are often the lone voice in the room. To remain authentic when it feels like everyone else might have a different version of the rule book. To draw boundaries when you love your job but have a young family at home. To lead when you are short on role models. When I finally reached the boardroom my seat was wracked with self doubt that I’d managed to carry all the way up the ladder with me.

I want women at every stage in their career to find the space to PAUSE, to REFUEL and RESET their direction, to RECHARGE their self belief, to EMPOWER them for the next part of their journey, so that when that seat comes up they will grab it with both hands!

That is why I coach women.
